BikeAlameda Founders to be Honored

On Thursday, November 5 at 6:00pm at Rhythmix Cultural Works in Alameda an event will be taking place to honor several Alamedans who go above and beyond the call of duty for the children in our community. Among those being honored are two people who are near and dear to us - our very own Lucy Gigli and Dan Wood on behalf of BikeAlameda. We would be so grateful if you were able to join us the night of the event to support and toast these two. They truly deserve it.

The first ever Alameda Community for Kids Awards will honor some of the unsung heroes in our hometown – people whose tireless efforts have had an incredible impact on the lives of children. This gala event will take place on Thursday, November 5th from 6pm-9pm at Rhythmix Cultural Works. This year, The Alameda Community for Kids Awards is proud to honor Jim Franz, Frederick Chacon, Joanne Robinson, Jared Altura, Vickie R. Smith, Kristin Mateer on behalf of The East Bay Children’s Law Organization, and Lucy Gigli and Dan Wood on behalf of BikeAlameda.

In addition to the awards ceremony, the evening includes a live performance by the Beatles cover band, The Sun Kings, with Jared Altura, a.k.a. Cowboy Jared, as the emcee, plenty of good eats from favorite local restaurants, a no-host bar to wash them down, a live auction for a cruise, and a silent auction and raffle for too many fabulous items to list!

Tickets are $25 in advance; $30 at the door. Mention you are a BIKEALAMEDA MEMBER and RECEIVE 5 FREE RAFFLE TICKETS upon entrance!

Proceeds benefit educational enrichment opportunities for the students of The Child Unique Montessori School. To purchase tickets, please call 510-521-9227 or visit: http://www.childunique.net/events/communityforkids.htm.

Hope to see you there!
