Want to tune up your urban biking skills? Attend one of BikeAlameda's Free Day 1 Bicycling Classes for teens and adults.
Bonnie Wehmann, Certified League Cycling Instructor, will be teaching the basics of safe and enjoyable cycling, riding in traffic, required equipment, crash avoidance and legal rights and responsibilities.
These Day 1 classes will be held at the First Congregational Church Social Hall, 1912 Central Avenue in Alameda on Saturday May 1st and Saturday May 29th from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m (register for either session; both are the same).
Although there is no charge for the class, registration is required as space is limited. A limited amount of free safety gear will be provided to those who complete the class while supplies last, thanks to a generous IBM Community Grant obtained by BikeAlameda.
A bicycle is not required for this classroom style session. For more information and to register online see http://www.bikealameda.org/event/safetyclasses. We hope to schedule a Day 2 Road class as well as additional Day 1 classes later this year in Alameda.
