Walgreens Drive-thru Allows Bikes and Peds

Walgreens has drive up window service at both Alameda stores and while this may negatively impact the environment they at least DO allow bicyclists and peds to use this service.

Recently, though, I rode my bike to the window at the Webster St. Walgreens and was told that they had adopted a new policy of not allowing bikes and peds at these outside windows. Dismayed by this, I went home and wrote to Walgreens to ask them about this new policy. An assistant manager at Walgreens called me to let me know that they definitely DO NOT have any such policy and bicyclists and peds are welcomed to use this service.

If anyone at either store tries to tell you otherwise you can tell them that it just ain't so. Walgreens and other stores with outside window service should do more to encourage bikes and peds to use this service especially with the renewed concerns about global warming. It would definitely be positive PR for any company that does this.
